Xiaomi, the successful startup Chinese electronics company will be having their next Xiaomi sale this coming Tuesday, 15th July 2014 at 12 noon. For this round, they will be having 10,000 units of their entry level Redmi 1S (RM 419.00) and 5,000 units of their flagship handset, the Mi 3 (RM 769.00). Not forgetting the power banks, there will be 10,000 units of the 10400mAh power bank (RM 36.00) and 5,000 units of the 5200mAh version (RM 25.00).
The Redmi 1S is a particularly interesting smart phone, as  it is the most affordable quad core 1.6 Ghz Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 handset around, followed closely by Huawei’s Honor 3C. If you are looking for a new smart phone handset to start with, the Xiaomi Redmi 1S is a good model to have.
The Xiaomi sale will be interesting, as Xiaomi takes a queue from the successful AirAsia business. We have written more about Xiaomi’s marketing strategy here. Read up to find out why Xiaomi sells its smart phone handsets and power banks at such a low price.
Would we advice people to get a handset? Of course, if that is what you want. But if you are waiting for the iPhone 6 and the features it brings; as in, the polished  iOS software, an integrated heart monitor, wireless payment system, industrial class security, apps only found on the Apple Appstore, among the other things that you can get on the iPhone, which you could never get on a budget phone like Xiaomi.
Oh, by the way, 95% of the Apps you find on the Appstore, can’t be found on Android phones. Xiaomi’s biggest weakness might be its Android foundation, as that doesn’t differentiate them from other smart phone manufacturers. Samsung found that out the hard way.
But if you are like Android and plan to go with it, you might as well either grab the Redmi 1S or the upcoming Mi 4 handset, which would be on sale during the later part of the month.
Again, the sale starts on Tuesday, around noon time. Please read the guidelines from Xiaomi Malaysia here.
