Last year, Apple presented an icon centric user interface for Apple TV. It made it much simpler to rearrange app icons on Apple TV’s main menu / home screen. In case you’re not sure of, you can also hide app icons on Apple TV’s home screen.
Here’s how to hide away the app icons on Apple TV’s main gallery: Launch the Settings app from Apple TV’s home screen. Navigate to Settings > General > Parental Controls. Then scroll down to the app you prefer to hide and press Select on your remote device to hide it on the main screen. You’ll notice that the status on the app shifts from “Show†to “Hideâ€. You can repeat this step for all the apps you want to take off from the home screen.
Note: You don’t need to flip on Parental Controls to keep hidden the icons, however if you want to restrict someone from modifying these settings then you need to turn on parental controls. If you’ve allowed Parental Controls then you will get a next option “Ask,†which is not appropriate to hiding an app on Apple TV’s main screen but as you may have guessed is useful for parental control as it will prompt the user for the password to use the app.
